Have you ever wanted to try Scuba Diving? As Malaysians who live in the coastal area of beaches and oceans, we always have this desire to scuba dive, at least once in our life. And for those who don’t really know what is Scuba Diving, let’s dive right in. Saw what I did there?
What is Scuba Diving
Scuba diving is like a tourist attraction park except that it is undersea. Usually, this “park” is considered to not been touched by mankind. Also worth mentioning that scuba diving has a time limit, not all of us are able to breathe like the fishes from Finding Nemo. So don’t try to overdo it or stay long in the oceans.
Since half of the earth’s beauty is buried deep in the ocean, it is common for people to return to scuba dive over and over again, like literally twice in a year, which is a lot more than I do.
As I say above, scuba diving areas are usually areas that have not been touch or prohibited by mankind. We usually don’t realize the destruction that we are doing to marine life by simply touching the starfish or colorful corals. A gentle touch towards a coral can harmful and deadly.
Attending for Diving Classes
Of course, you need to learn how to scuba dive, you cant just simply dive without the knowledge or skill of scuba diving. There is various kind of courses for you to learn. By taking part in scuba diving classes, you can able to have basic scuba diving skills.
The Right Gears
Besides the skills that you have learned, gears are very helpful during scuba diving because it assures the safety of the divers. This includes oxygen tanks, fins, wetsuits, masks, snorkel, and some other scuba diving gears. As long you know it’s not a surfboard, you are fine. You also need to monitor your gears, for example, monitoring your oxygen air, it can check as often as possible. So that you don’t run out of oxygen to breathe.
Knowing Your Spot
Malaysia is rich with beautiful oceans and marine life, and yes I did say we all desire to witness the beautiful nature that has been tressure deep in the ocean, but you also need to know not all places are scuba diving guarantee. I would suggest you go to Perhentian Islands that are located in Terengganu or Tunku Abdul Rahman Park that is located in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
Pay Attention To Briefings
If you don’t pay attention to the briefing, you wouldn’t know what to do. And if you don’t know what to do, well there will be no point anymore. Just listen to the briefing, so you would get a guide on where to go and what to do. Don’t get lost like Dory from Finding Dory.
